Hannah Moujing
Hannah Moujing, an indigenous movement practitioner from Borneo Island, Malaysia, intertwines her 23 years of experience in multi-genre dance and diverse movement modalities, has established a unique presence in expressive art, movement therapy, and performing art industry.
Growing up in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Hannah immersed herself in intensive dance training. Her journey through dance has been marked by a deep exploration of rhythmic gymnastics, ballet, ballroom, hip-hop, contemporary, traditional, and modern dance forms. She also delved into martial arts and athletic track and field, creating a robust and versatile skill set that has been foundational to her unique approach to movement.
Hannah’s academic achievements are a testament to her dedication to her craft. She holds a BA in Dance and a BS in Psychology from the University of Washington, Seattle, complemented by a TTC-200 certification in yoga from India. Her studies in the United States further refined her skills in modern contemporary dance and psychology, positioning her as a knowledgeable and innovative practitioner in the field of movement and wellness. Beyond her rich dance background, her extensive experience in arts management previously facilitating nationwide performing art profile with CENDANA (Creative Cultural Economy Development), producing (Work in Progress Kota Kinabalu, TUAI collective, Villa De Fedelia Residency) underscores her capability in navigating the creative and operational realms of the arts.
Over the years, Hannah has conducted workshops and classes internationally, helping individuals from diverse backgrounds reconnect with their bodies and discover the joy of movement. One of her notable contributions is the development of “Sesi Tikar Mengkuang,” a specialized movement session designed to weave movement practices for all bodies, is highly sought after from festivals and workshop. Hannah is known for her collaborative projects with other artists and health professionals, exploring the intersections of movement, mental health, and holistic well-being. Her contributions to the field have made her a respected figure in the global movement community, inspiring many with her passion and dedication to the art of movement.
